iiiiiuiiiii
I N T E R
MEMO
O F F I C E
To: Kent Gorham ~
From: Sandy Brown~~
Subject: CCMC Vegetation Sampling
Date: June 15, ] 998
I talked to Charles Florian at Greystone about the vegetation sampling they will be doing this
week on June 18 and 19. Referring to Janet Binn's May 19, 1998 memo, I asked about the
transect length they were planning to use. He was unawaze of the permit that states they will use
a 100 foot transect.
Greystone does not want to use a 100 foot transect, they prefer to work in metric. Therefore, we
agreed that they will use a 25 meter transect, with two points one meter apart at 1 meter intervals.
For each transect there will be 50 points. Production will be collected in .5 mz plots instead of
the .25 mz plots they committed to in the permit.
Greystone will submit a minor revision to the permit to make the changes discussed above. The
concern regarding the overlapping transects in the reference area, also mentioned in Janet's
memo, has already been resolved. Greystone submitted another map on May 20.
