Watcher
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
On June 24, 2003 the Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) issued conditional approval of the Technical
Revision application submitted to the DMG on June 5, 2003, addressing the following:
• Establishment of a new location for the south topsoil stockpile.
• Crushing and screening of road base from the Henderson Gravel Pit.
• Construction of haul roads and temporary interceptor canal crossings for the topsoil hauling project.
• Relocation of temporary topsoil piles into long tern stockpile locations.
The following condition to approval was originally applied in a letter from the DMG to Henderson dated October 2,
2002, and referenced by Henderson in the TR-13 application. It is reiterated here for tracking purposes through the
DMG permit revision database.
STIPULATION NO.01:
At the beginning of April and again at the beginning of May during each year that the Interceptor Canal
is impinged by the temporary culverts and crossings, the snowpack will be evaluated by reference to the
Jones Pass and Glen Maz Ranch (Summit Ranch) Snotel sites. If the snow/water equivalent at either of
these sites exceeds 125 percent of average, Henderson will consult with DMG about the potential need to
remove the temporary culvert and crossing from the Interceptor Canal prior to intensive snowmelt runoff.
This consultation may include a requirement to model and estimate the flows in the canal that would
result from snowmelt anticipated based on the Snowtel data.
The terms of the Technical Revision No. 13 approved by the DMG aze hereby incorporated into Permit No. M-1977-
342. All other conditions and requirements of Permit No. M-1977-342 remain in full force and effect.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
G~
Allen C.
