O'Brian <br />Vice-President <br />Environment, Inc. <br />7985 Vance Drive, Suite 205A <br />Arvada, Colorado 80003 <br />RE: Technical Revision Dated 12/16/92 for Hazeltine Pit, File No. M-77-153 <br />Dear Mr. O'Brian: <br />Listed below are responses to the Technical Revision on the Hazeltine Pit, submitted <br />December 16, 1992. <br />1. It is understood that the Weed Control Plan, and any additional recommendations <br />action forthcoming from Adams County, will be implemented beginning Spring <br />1993 to control noxious weeds. <br />2. The Division acknowledges that photographs will be sent of the entrance sign <br />posted and the reroute around and seeding of the topsoil stockpile at the southeast <br />side of the lake. <br />3. The use of broken concrete and old concrete pipe (inert fill) as bank armor and fish <br />habitat along the east, north, and north central shoreline is acknowledged. it is <br />understood that Stevan O'Brian of Environment, Inc. has been in contact with the <br />Health Department. Any waiver by the Health Department for this site must be <br />documented with the Division. If the operator applies for a Certificate of <br />Designation, then evidence of application for a Certificate of Designation for <br />imported waste should be submitted to the Division. Please submit documentation <br />by February 1, 1993. No further material may be imported to the site until <br />documentation is received by the Division. <br />4. The Division acknowledges that mining is nearly complete at the Hazeltine Pit and <br />that stages of reclamation have taken place on sections of the permit. The current <br />bond of 540,800.00 was evaluated based on mining with 26.39 acres being the <br />maximum allowable disturbed acreage at any one time. Because final reclamation <br />includes no steeper than a 3H:1 V sloping shoreline five feet above and ten feet <br />below water line, and because the more recent riprapped shoreline will of necessity <br />
