done after the drilling is complete by placing slotted 4" PVC or steel casing through
the zone intended to be monitored. Solid casing shall extend from that point to the
surface. The annulus of the casing will be filled at the bottom with Colorado Silica
Sand to a point at the top of the slotted casing. Well abandonment material shall then
be placed from that point to a point 10 feet from the surface. The zone to be
monitored shall be isolated from other water bearing zones by placing a bentonite
plug above and/or below the silica sand zone in the annulus of the casing. The
annulus of the casing will then be filled to within 10 feet of the surface with approved
well abandonment material. A cement surface plug will then be placed in the upper
10 feet of the casing annulus to the surface. The steel surface casing shall be left in
place on this hole and shall extent to a height not to exceed 2 feet above the land
surface. A lockable lid shall be placed on the top of the casing to protect the well.
