Long <br />Division Director <br />Re: Coal Ridge No.i Nine (Permit No. C-84-065) <br />Permit Renewal Application <br />To Whom It May Concern: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in <br />accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of <br />the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on April 25, 1996, an <br />application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining <br />operations at the Coal Ridge No.l Mine was considered complete for <br />the purposes of filing. We neglected to notify your agency <br />earlier; however, we are still accepting comments from interested <br />parties. The Coal Ridge Mine is in the final stages of <br />reclamation, therefore no coal excavation will occur at this mine <br />under this renewed permit. <br />The applicant proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or <br />reclamation operations on land located approximately three miles <br />east of New Castle, Colorado. The permit and loadout areas are <br />further described as follows: <br />Township 6 South, Range 91 West, 6th P.M. <br />Section 1: Those lands in the NE';, yet <br />south of County Road 3, Lots 3 and 4, <br />S'~, S~ NW; <br />Section 12: N~ NE'-, <br />J Township 6 South, Range 90 West, 6th P.M. <br />Section 5: S~ SW; <br />Section 6: All lands south of County Road 335 and <br />a strip of land approximately 400 feet <br />long and 25 feet wide which extends <br />north from the county road to the <br />Colorado, originating just east of the <br />mine entrance road. <br />Section 7: NE;, N'~ NW; <br />Section 8: N~, N~, SE'-„ NE;, SW; <br />Section 9: S~, NW;, SW; <br />Section 15: NW'; <br />
