Box 773598 Executive Director <br />Steamboat S rin s, CO 80477 <br />P g Alichael B. long <br />Division Director <br />Re: Seneca II-W Mine (Permit No. C-1982-057) <br />Permit Revision Application No. 3 (PR-3) <br />Additional Disturbance for Mining, Reclamation and Related Operations <br />Dear Routt County Planning Department: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, <br />Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 11, 2002, a permit revision application for a <br />permit to conduct coal mining operations, Permit No. C-1982-057 by Seneca Coal Company, was considered <br />complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Coal <br />Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal <br />Mining initiate from this date of filing. <br />This permit revision is submitted for the approval of additional disturbance for mining, reclamation and related <br />operations for the II-W South Expansion Area. The approval of this Permit Revision will allow SCC to extend the <br />life of the Seneca II-W mine. <br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 9 miles south of Hayden. The permit area is <br />further described as follows: <br />TSN, R88 W; All of Section 15; Portions of Sections 9, I Q 11, 14, 16, 21, 22 and 23 <br />T6N, R88W; Portions of Sections 14, 23 and 24 <br />T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 17, 18, 19 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land aze shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Hayden Gulch, Hayden, <br />Dunckley, and Mount Harris. <br />A copy of the revision application is available for public inspection at [he Hayden Public Library, 225 E. Jefferson <br />Avenue, Hayden, Colorado 81639.
