A few typographical problems that need to be cleazed up prior to approval of these revised pages
include:
3) The Table shown on Page 2.05-17a identifies the sample collected at 12-24" depth in the
NW quadrant as a Loam. This should be corrected to "Silt Loam" based upon the particle
size distribution results and compazison to the Soil Textural Triangle. Additionally, the
SE quadrat 12-24" depth and 24-36" depth should be "Silt Loam" as well.
4) Page 2.05-17 submitted with this revision only has text on one side of the page. The
currently approved permit page (revised 9/19/95 MR-73) is a two-sided page with page
2.05-18 on the back side. As submitted, the pages 2.05-17 and 17a do not fit smoothly
into [he permit.
5) Proposed permit page 2.05-17 states that, "Each additional foot of topsoil shall be
equivalent to 1.5 feet of subsoil." The Division cannot accept this statement without
additional demonstration that less than 4 feet of cover on the Coal Processing Waste
Disposal Area would be in compliance with Rule 4.10.4(5). Should Basin replace more
than one foot of topsoil at the Waste Disposal Area the total thickness of cover will still
need to meet the 4-foot requirement.
Please contact me should you have any further questions.
m:\coal\shaze\c81013tr.43a
