Field Minor Revision 93-92; Permit C-
82-056. Foidel Creek Mine
Dear Mr. Gorham;
Enclosed, please find the materials being submitted for the above-referenced field
approved minor revision. These materials include a completion diagram, new hydrologic
monitoring exhibit page showing the location of the well, and revised hydrologic
monitoring exhibit page which reflects the inclusion of replacement water
supply/monitoring well FCM #2 as part of the monitoring program. Page Ex 14-8 also has
been updated to reflect the loss of monitoring wells 006-82-48A (covered by well
91 M005) and 006-82-48C (being replaced by FCM #2) earlier this year as a result of the
mining advance. Due to the delays encountered in the completion of the replacement
Trout Creek Well, TCC was not able to obtain a sample from this well until late October
(which is in keeping with the request of the Division as outlined in the 1992 AHR review.
TCC intends to include this initial sampling in the upcoming AHR for the Trout Creek
Sandstone, and will continue future monitoring in accordance with the normal semi-annual
schedule outlined in the exhibit.
This well was completed in the Trout Creek Sandstone zone, and initial quality of field
parameters for this well fall within the expected range for this unit. Total depth of the
well is 320 feet, with a screened interval of 213 feet to 313 feet. Due to the nature of
this well (the welt head actually being located within the underground workings) water
levels will be obtained by means of pressure readings. As a result, the datum elevation
on future AHR data sheets will reflect the elevation of the pressure gage location, rather
than the ground level (mine floor) elevation noted on the completion diagram for reference.
As discussed, the Hydrologic Monitoring map will also be updated to reflect the presence
of FCM #2, and will be included in a future submittal due to the current overlap in
permitting items at this time.
Kent, your assistance in this matter has been greatly appreciated. Should you have any
questions or comments, please contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Marcus A. Middleton
Environmental Specialist
