Waste Oil Tank Removal. <br />Three existing underground waste oil tanks will be excavated and removed. The <br />tank locations are shown on Figure 4. The excavation around the tanks will be <br />monitored by a Colorado Department of Resources official, The light duty shop <br />and Tube bay tanks will only require excavation and refilling of the open <br />hole. The main shop tank is under a concrete pad. This pad will have to be <br />cut and a portion removed to allow excavation and removal of the tank. The <br />hole will be filled with road base in 2-foot Wacker packed lifts. Reinforcing <br />will be #4 rebar 3 1/2" from surface of concrete and matching existing centers <br />(approximately 15 inches.) Then a new 10" concrete pour will replace the <br />removed portion of the existing pad. Once the main shop tank is removed, <br />owner will weld shut the drain in the inside tank farm. Owner will also <br />secure the four existing tanks to the floor to avoid possible tank float. <br />Contractor shall furnish labor, equipment and materials to cut concrete, <br />excavate around the buried tanks, remove said buried tanks and rebuild the <br />concrete pad at the main shop. Owner shall furnish a crane to lift the tanks <br />out of the ground and will be responsible for disposal of the tanks and their <br />contents. <br />Contractor shall field verify all locations, distances, dimensions and areas <br />identified on drawings prior to submitting bid. <br />EDS/ses/084 <br />
