It has a profile similar to
the representative profile for the series.
Permeability is moderately slow and the available water capacity is
moderate. This soil is not highly susceptible to erosion.
(MOA) - Mesa Gravellv Clav Loam, 0 to 2 Percent Slopes
This soil is on old high terraces. It has a profile similar to the
representative profile for the series, but the surface layer is 15 to 30
percent gravel and cobblestones.
This soil is not highly susceptible to erosion.
(Ru) - (Rr) Twic Torriorthents-Rock Outcrop Ca~miex 12 to 90 Percent
Slopes
This unit has recently been reclassified (fornierly named Rough Broken
Land) and reassigned a new symbol, Rr
This map unit occurs on steep side
slopes of mesas and terraces.
The typic torriorthents portion consists of residuum and colluviian
from -interbedded sedimentary units. The soil is shallow to very deep and
well drained. It is a dry soil and exists on a broad range of slopes and
has variable texture. No single profile is typical and there is no mollic
epipedon. In places a shallow surface layer may exist over the substratian.
The rock outcrop portion consists of large exposures of interbedded
sandstone and shale parallel to the surface and as cliffs, breaks or
escarpments.
-19-
