Please verify the status of
whether these plans for riprap installation aze still valid and should be considered as part
of the final reclamation for the existing flood control berm. Please respond.
Per Anderson Consulting Engineers, Inc., the riprap installation shown on Sheet 6 is not required
for flood control purposes. The hydraulic analysis prepared for FEMA includes a `without berm'
scenario that indicates if the berm is breached, floodwaters associated with the 100-year event in
the revised condition will be contained in the reclaimed Durham Pit. The riprap installation
shown on Sheet 6 is one possible solution to protect existing gas utilities. VCI reserves the right
to remove this portion of the riprap pending discussions with the various review agencies and the
utilities.
9. Please clarify whether the "Sediment Trap" as shown on Sheet 6 (Index CS) is to be a
temporary or permanent feature, it's installation cost, and plans for final reclamation if it
is to be a temporary feature.
Vats Companies, Inc.
