Request Revegetation Standards
Dear Sv or Madam:
The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Pazagraph 4,
of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on May 31, 2005, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Raton Creek
Mines was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Energy Fuels Mining Company. AI[
review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of Sling.
The operator is proposing to modify the revegetation standazds regazding the shrub density at the mine. Shrubs are not a
significant component of the vegetafion on the reclaimed azea. Limited establishment of shlvbs over the revegetation period
should not negatively impact the implementation of the post-mining land use.
The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 3 miles South of Trinidad, Colorado. The permit area
is further described as follows:
T33S, R63W, SWl/4 of Section 31; T33S, R64W, all of Section 36 except portions of the Wl/2 W1Y2; T34S, R63W, all of
Section 6 and Nl/2 NEI/4, NEl/4 NW 1/4 of Section 7;
T34S, R64W, E1/2 ofSection l ofthe 6th P.M.

The applicant is requved to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of
publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Las Animas County
Courthouse, 200 East First Street, Room 104, Trinidad, CO 81082, and at the Division office. For additional information or to
provide written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver,
Colorado 80203, [phone]. In order for us to comply with regulatory time flames, we request that comments be
submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter If no comments are received by then, we will proceed on the assumption that
you have no concerns with, or objections to, the applicants proposal.
