M-91-097/CN-Ol First adequacy letter
1 1!25!93
page 2
Exhibit A -Site Description
As noted above, the easement description must be included herein.
Exhibit C -Pre-mining and Mining Plan Maps
The adjacent landowners' names shown do not include the landowners across the highway. If the
right-of-~aay is less than 200 feet wide, there are other owners wlticlt should be identified across
the highway also. Please confirm that this is verified and completed.
The adjacent landowners whose names are shown on the maps do not match the list of parties to
be notified, as identified on the "Addendum 1"list you provided. The list and/or the map must be
corrected. Please provide a list that matches the map, and verify that all appropriate parties are
identified on the map and that all are sent the notices.
The overhead powerline passes through the northern topsoil stockpile area (NW of the house). A
powerpole is even shown in the middle of the pile. Please clarify how such stockpiling will not
adversely impact this structure.
Related to this stockpile area is the question of the existing fenceline which passes through the
length of this stockpile area, north to south. The fence is shown on the property survey, included
under Exhibit A, but not on any other maps. The issue of setback distance from a perimeter fence
along the property boundary would be moot in this case, except that the fence does not run along
ttte property line/permit boundary line, but is located inside the line by 60-75 feet. The stockpile
is shown to cover that location. Will the fence be moved to the property line or will the stockpile
"footprint" be modified?
The "slope" acreage amounts shown on the table for the Phase 2 map sheet appear to represent
only the portions above water. Please confirm if this is correct.
The numbers on the acreage tables do not seem to add up correctly. Please verify that they are
correct, and if so, please explain why they are (e.g., for reasons of overlap, etc.) Also, it might
leave been clearer to include the 9.14-acre figure for the undisturbed/stockpile areas in the table.
The Phase 1 map includes notations that Ditch #2 will be abandoned and Ditch # 1 will be
relocated, though this conflicts with the narrative in Exhibit D and Exhibit S. Please clarify which
ditches are to be relocated or abandoned.
There are many topographic contours shown on the maps, for both existing and proposed
conditions. I have a bit of trouble "reading" [he slopes, however, due to the convergence,
divergence, and discontinuity of the contours and to the scarcity of labeled contours or spot
elevations. (Can another map with complete contour lines, darkened index contours, labeled
