PDBLIC NOTICE <br />Mountain Coal Company, P.O. Box 591, Somerset, CO 81434, <br />(303) 929-5015, has submitted a complete application for <br />a technical revision of Reclamation and Mining Permit No. <br />C-80-007 to the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />(CMLRD), 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 <br />(303) 866-3567. The technical revision involves the <br />construction of up to four stacking tubes and an <br />underground reclaim system, and the removal of a rotary <br />breaker, replacing it with a screen and crusher. <br />The permit area of the West Elk Mine (a.k.a. Mt. Gunnison <br />No. 1 Mine) is located in Gunnison County, approximately <br />one mile East of Somerset, Colorado, and is generally <br />described as follows: Sections 9, 10, 15 to 22, 26 to <br />30, and 34, Township 13 South, Range 90 West of the 6th <br />P.M.; containing approximately 4,240 acres. This area is <br />located on the USGS 7.5 minute Somerset quadrangle <br />topographic map. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available <br />for review at the CMLRD office at the above address and <br />at the Gunnison County Courthouse, 200 East Virginia <br />Street, Gunnison, CO 81230. Written comments, <br />objections, or requests for informal conference on the <br />application must be submitted to the CMLRD within 30 days <br />of this publication. <br />
