CONSERVATION SERVICE <br />356 Ranney Street, Craig, CO 81625 <br /> <br />Mgrv1n Moore, Moffat County Road Deparrpient <br />Poat Office Box 667 <br />Craig, CO 81626 <br />Dear Mr. Moore, <br />July 17, 1991 <br />In reference to our conversation yesterday concerning reclamation <br />of gravel pits we recommend that you go with the BLM's <br />recommendations of 15 PLS (lbs.)/acre Pubescent wheatgrass, 14 PLS <br />(lbs.)/acre Intermediate wheatgrass and 10 PLS (lbs.)i acre Russian <br />wildrye in equal proportions. These are introduced grasses but <br />they tend to provide a quicker cover than some of our native varieties <br />and are just as good if not better in palatability and vigor. <br />Good luck with your revegetation work.
