36. The cited equation was properly amended. Item Resolved.
37. The species diversity standard approaches were clarified as requested. Item
Resolved.
38. Typographical errors were corrected. Item Resolved.
39. Statement was deleted as requested. Item Resolved.
43. (New Item). There are a couple discrepancies with respect to species/variety
nomenclature in several of the seedmixes, which need to be amended to correspond to
currently accepted nomenclature. Secar has historically been considered a variety of
bluebunch wheatgrass (Pseudoroegneria spicata), but more recently it has been
determined to be a variety of Snake River wheatgrass (Elymus wawaensis). Covar is
a sheep fescue (Festuca ovina) cultivar, of Turkish origin. Please review the various
seedmixes, and make these corrections as appropriate.
SCC July 7, 2005 Response to Colorado Division of Wildlife Comments
No DMG comment warranted.
In response to this DOW recommendation, SCC indicated that mountain
big sagebrush seed would be included in Seed Mix lA, which is consistent
with amended narrative included in the most recent PR-2 submittal.
However, in response to the DOW recommendation, SCC indicated "the
sagebrush seed will be broadcast seeded at a rate of 0.25 lbs. per acre".
This statement conflicts with SCC's response to Item 28 of DMG's PR-2
adequacy letter, which states "... as far as broadcast or dribble seeding big
sagebrush; there are over 700 acres that will ultimately be seeded with
Mix 1 A, it is not practical or time/labor efficient to broadcast or dribble
seed this many acres."
Please refer to the Item 28 request, above.
3. SCC's responses to this item are consistent with responses to similaz
issues raised by DMG. Tab 22 amendments, including the amended Map
Exhibit 22-1 appear to be consistent with the item responses. Note DMG
comment regarding variable topsoil replacement, in Item 27, above. Item
tentatively resolved, pendin¢ DOW review.
4
