Jones <br />Environmental Specialist <br />Powder River Coal Company <br />Caller Box 3034 <br />Gillette, Wyoming 82717-3034 <br />RE: Roadside and Cameo Mines (C-81-041): Permit Renewal No.2 Reclamation Bond <br />Estimate <br />Dear Mr. Jones: <br />As we discussed by telephone and you stated in your letter dated April 5, 1993, the Division <br />is ammenable to allow Powderhorn Coal Company to post bond monies for activities <br />associated with the construction of Cameo Refuse Disposal Area Nu.3 at a iuturc dais t,riur <br />to construction of the pile. <br />The Division's reclamation estimate prepared in February 1993 included these costs in the <br />total estimate. Specifically, tasks 60, 61, 61a, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 66a, 67, acid 68 pertain to <br />the construction of CRDA Ivo.3. Direct and indirect costs associated with construction of <br />CRDA No.3 total to $672,529.00. This portion of the estimated bond will be required to <br />be posted to the Division no later than sixty days prior to initial construction activities <br />related to Cameo Refuse Area No.3. This requirement will be included in the renewal <br />permit as Stipulation No.7. <br />Powderhorn Coal Company's liability for all other permitted disturbances, facilities, and <br />activities associated with the Roadside and Cameo Mines has been estimated to be <br />$2,487,320.00. The Division currently retains a bond for $2,SOO,G00.00 to cover Powderhorn <br />Coal Company's reclamation liability. No additional bond is required to be submitted at <br />this time. <br />
