• s
EXHIBIT D - M1NI:tI,G PLAN
112 AMENUMEN'C APPLICATION - VERHOEFF P1T lf2
The only amendment to the application and the mining plan
is to change the acreage to read the correct number of acreage to be
permitted.
"r fie mining operation will encompass approximately all of the
3h.98 acres as outlined in the mining map. Haul roads, access roads
and screening area are already present at this site. Topsoil and
Overburden stockpiles are segregated in separate piles in the south
portion of the mine site.
Alining will be accomplished with a D-9 Caterpillar Dozer and A
Clark Michigan Scraper. John Deere model 844 Loader will be used to
move the material in the mine area and to load it out on trucks.
Screening equipment and conveyors, along with support vehicles will be
the only other eyuipment on site.
The gravel and rock will be screened on site. No water will be
used in the processing on site. Material will be transported away
from the site by trucks.
Earthmoving will be done with a dozer, scraper and loaders in the
mine area and transported out on trucks.
A11 mining will be done above ground water table and floodplain,
so no water resources will be affected by the operation. Surface
runoff will be almost nonexistent in this area due to the permeability
of the soil and the topography and layout of the mine site.
Mining commenced on or about December 10, 1992 under the current
permit. It is anticipated that mining will be complete no later than
December of 1997. The topsoil material will be salvaged to a depth of
at least 4 to 6 inches and more, if found in pockets of deposits
typical for this area. The topsoil will be stockpiled in an orderly
berm suitable for seeding in the event it is to remain in storage
beyond one growing season. There will be no additional overburden or
waste rock at the site. The topsoil layer is very thin in many areas
on the site with gravel exposed on the surface. Mining will be from
6' to l'L' iri depth, which also the depth of the deposit.
