Long <br />Division Director <br />Re: West E]k Mine (Permit No. C-80-007) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 03 <br />Deaz County Planners: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 33, Article 34, <br />Section 118, Pazagraph 3 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on March 11, 1996, a pem»t renewal <br />application for a permit to conduct coal mining operations, Permit No. C-80-007, by Mountain Coal Company, <br />was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the <br />Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Boazd for Coal Mining initiate from this date of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to cont"mue underground coal mining and/or reclaruation operations on land located <br />approximately one mile east of Somerset, Colorado, in Delta and Gunnison Counties. The permit azea is <br />located in the following sections: <br />Township 13 South. Ranee 90 West. 6th P.M.: <br />Sections 9, 10, 15-30, and 34-36 <br />Township 13 South. Range 91 West. 616 P.M.: <br />Sections 23-26 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of -and aze shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Bowie and Somerset. <br />Copies of the renewal application aze available for public inspection at the Delta County Clerk and Recorder's <br />Office in Delta, Colorado, and at the Gunnison County Planning Department.
