PUBLIC NOTICE <br />The Energy Fuels Mining Company (Energy Fuels), is fling an application for bond release <br />with the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG). Energy Fuels is the owner and <br />operator of the Raton Creek Mine located approximately three miles south of Trinidad, <br />Colorado on the east side of and adjacent to Intestate Highway 25 (I-25) near the Town of <br />Starkville. Box 449 <br />Florence, Colorado 81226 <br />Phone: (719) 784-6395 <br />The bond release application covers recently completed reclamation for portions of the Mine <br />Site. The recently completed work resulted in backfilling, regrading, and drainage control for <br />approximately 25.3 acres of disturbance. All reclaimed lands lie within the mine permit <br />boundaries which encompass portions of the following areas: <br />T33S, R63W, Section 31 - SW'/ ; <br />T33S, R64W, Section 36 -all except portions of the W'/z W'/z; <br />T34S, R63W, Section 6 -all; <br />Section 7 - N'/zNE'bNE',GNW'/,; <br />T34S, R64W, Section 1 - E'/z E'/z; <br />6th P.M. <br />These areas are shown on the Trinidad East, Colorado 7.5 Minute Quadrangle Map. <br />Energy Fuels conducted underground coal mining operations at the Raton Creek Mine during <br />a period from 1987 through 1990 under a permit (Permit No. C-82-055) issued on August 17, <br />1982 by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division (CMLRD) as predecessor to the <br />DMG. Under applicable provisions of this permit, Energy Fuels agreed to reclaim the Mine <br />Site to a condition and configuration suitable for postmining use as rangeland for livestock <br />grazing following cessation of mining. Reclamation of the site was completed consistent with <br />this commitment and applicable regulatory requirements in December, 1994. The reclamation <br />work involved sealing portals, removal of surface structures, backfilling all highwalls, <br />regrading, and installing temporary and permanent drainage controls. The completed work <br />resulted in reclamation of disturbed areas to provide for long-term stability and effective <br />drainage control consistent with the proposed postmining use an regulatory requirements. <br />
