Lnng <br />Div is inn DueUOr <br /> <br />Pursuant to Title 34, Article 33, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, the <br />Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on August 28, 1995, <br />a technical revision application for a permit to conduct coal mining <br />operations by Trapper Mining Inc., P.O. Box 187, Craig, Colorado 81626, was <br />deemed complete for the purposes of filing. All reviews and comment periods <br />as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from <br />this day of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to revise surface coal mining operations at the Trapper <br />Mine. The technical revision pertains to a remediation plan for a landslide <br />which occurred on reclaimed land in the Ashmore Pit section of the mine. The <br />landslide is located on land whose surface is owned by Trapper Mine and whose <br />minerals are owned by the United States. Remediation will involve earthmoving <br />and the installation of french drains and contour ditches. <br />In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that <br />comments be submitted to the Division of Minerals and Geology at the above <br />address by 5:00 p.m. on September 27, 1995. If no comments are received by <br />this date, we will proceed on the assumption that your agency has no concerns <br />with or objections to the applicant's proposal. <br />The Trapper Mine is located approximately 6 1/2 miles south of Craig, <br />Colorado. The area affected by this revision is located in the SE 1/4 of <br />Section 35, Township 6 North, Range 91 West; this tract of land is shown on <br />the USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle map of Castor Gulch. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public <br />inspection at the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 West Victory Way, Craig, <br />Colorado.
