Wells 1-3A and 1-3B (see
attached map) are smaller than areas shown in Annual Report and planned for
disturbance. If the 0.9 acres is approved, total disturbance acreage will be
66.7 + 0.9 = 67.6 acres. Permitted disturbance acreage for WRN is 73 acres.
The new drill pads will be for two vertical wells drilled with a new
technology which reduces required size of drill pads significantly. Each new
well will be completed as a vertical well and drilled horizontally through base
of the vertical well to cavities lA and 3A. This will increase mining reserve
and utilize mining area between lA and 3A. The construction of drill pads is
planned for Oct.-Nov. 2001. BLM concerns for protection of cultural
resources and raptor nesting areas have been addressed in this plan. Drainage
ditches or pipes will be installed from well heads to mud pits in case of
leakage.
