The
minor revision will be to CMLRD Permit C-007-80, Mt.
Gunnison No. 1 Mine.
The dewatering pipe will consist of a 75 foot long
steel pipe placed on a minimum grade of 0.58 and a
maximum grade of 1.08 and equipped with a manually
operated control valve. Revised attachments D and G
are enclosed and show the location and elevation of
the proposed dewatering pipe.
In addition to installing the dewatering pipe, the
emergency spillway will be relocated as shown on
revised Attachment D. The purpose of this relocation
is to prevent having to apply for an additional NPDES
discharge point. The existing spillway will be elim-
inated. A modification will be made to the NPDES
discharge point 009, Permit No. CO-0038776 to
relocate the sampling point. Per phone discussion
with Jon C. Kubic of the Colorado Department of
Health, it may take in excess of two months to
approve a modification of outfall 009. They will not
be able to determine exact timing until they have
looked at the request for modification. I will
forward the request for modification to the Colorado
Department of Health as soon as possible.
.:~.ico-ezo~
