All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining <br />Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co. proposes to continue Surface coal mining and/or reclamation <br />operations on land located approximately 5 miles Northwest of Oak Creek, Colorado. The permit area is <br />further described as follows: <br />TEN, R85 W, Portions of Sections 31, 32 <br />TEN, R86W, Portions of Section 36 <br />T4N, R86W, Portions of Sections 12, 13, 14, 23, 24, 25 <br />T4N, R85 W, Portions of Sections 7, 8, 17, 18, 19, 29, 30 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Cow Creek, and <br />Rattlesnake Butte. <br />This application is for renewal of a valid existing permit. The permit is in permanent cessation. The renewal <br />is for continued reclamation activities in accordance with apreviously-approved reclamation plan, and <br />provides for no new disturbance to undisturbed or reclaimed lands. <br />However, we are requesting your agency's evaluation of the proposal. Your comments and concerns <br />relating to the adequacy of fish and wildlife resources information, the fish and wildlife plan, and the <br />reclamation plan as it relates to fish and wildlife considerations, including potential impacts to threatened or <br />endangered species, are requested.
