The actual alfeetied acres as of the January,
1998 aerial photogrephs for Rex Quart' is 102.2 acres total, 84.5 acres of which do not indrde the
pro-1974 aaes. This is sgnificantly less than the 112.4 saes as previously reported in the September,
1997 annual report We will be adjusting this number in the September, 1998 annual report m represent
more aocuratey the curently dishrrbed saes in Section 1. We are curtentiy bonded for a mardmum
disturbance of 114.8 acres.
~ Second, attadled please find the clarification m our Eldribit E Reclamation Plan submitted in March
of 1986. We have incorporated your suggestions as well as Cad Mounts and Bruce Humphries about
the desired diversification in the final contours and landscape to assure the best results for post mining
use of wildlife habitat By specifying more highwaNs, Talus sopes, and variations in sopes grades and
directions to more dosey mimic the surroundings, we hope to darify the less speafic rectamation plan
>> which is curtentiy accepted by the State. By identifying various ranges for percertTages of aces
compared to the total area of highwalls left, talus sopes Proposed, and slope variations, we have more
spedfically addressed how the post contours for the land would appear whether the redamation was
completed today or at the life of the mine. None of the copes proposed are steeper than 2:1 other than
M the various hghwalls and digs, as is currently accepted by the State and all of the slopes proposed in
the post contour map are both geotedlnicaly and erosionalty stable. We welcome your input on this
redamation darification.
,~
