NO. M-81-202
Flag Resources, Inc., Silt Pit
Dear Mr. Mount=
This Technical Revision is intended to correct and make
minor modifications to our Mined Land Reclamation Board Reclama-
tion permit for this mine. It will entail making minor changes to
the permit and final lake configuration. These changes are a
result of what we are finding as mining progresses. This Techni-
cal Revision contains four parts discussed under separate headings
below. Some are a result of operating method changes we have made
and some are necessitated by changes in the direction of mining we
intend to pursue as the mine develops.
STAGING/PNASING CHANGES
we are removing all mining stages and reclamation
phases from this operation. when originally permitted the
staging was done to keep the bond amount relatively low.
However over the past 3 years we have found that moat of the
material remaining in the mined area is contained in a band
along the river and being restricted in how we develop the
mine. Review of the Mining Plan Map (revised 7/99) show the
current shape of the lake around the mined area on the west
side of the site. We have found that the material is spotty
at bast along the south side of the mine. The gravel begins
to taper from 20 plus to zero feet deep in a narrow band
just south of the old Stage 2 line meaning it is not practi-
cal to mined south of the current shore.
By removing the stage lines we are able better to
utilize the resources left, and develop the mine in a more
orderly manner. To do this we will qo to a maximum distur-
bance area type of bond. Mining will run clockwise around
the area east of the Plant Site. The Mining Plan Map shows
where mining will begin on the eastern parcel. We will work
north to the river; then along the river until we reach the
east line then move south to the road and finally remove the
Plant Site. The Plant Site area is on the map to be a
