Addendum to Henderson Mine Reclamation Permit Amendment
Permit No. M-77-342, Amendment AM-03
Henderson Mill PC3 Conveyor
Reclamation Plan -Seedling Protection
Following review by the Grand County Planning Office, and in consideration for plant protection
following seedling planting in the PC3 Conveyor corridor, the Climax Molybdenum Company
Proposes the following addendum to the corridor Reclamation Plan:
The Climax Molybdenum Company intends to revegetated the PC3 Conveyor corridor in final
reclamation. The reclamation plan calls for revegetation of 15% of the disturbances on the newly
affected land with seedlings. No provisions were made in the reclamation plan for protection of
the seedlings from wildlife browse.
Climax Molybdenum Company will provide for seedling protection by installing tree tubes and tree
protection sleeves during planting operations. Tree protectors three feet in length will be installed
around each seedling. The tree protectors will be maintained annually for a period of three years
following installation or until such time as the seedlings extend from the tops of the tubes.
Following the first two years of growth, a second planting will occur to cover mortality of the initial
planting. These seedlings will also be provided plant protection devices for a three year period or
until the seedlings extend from the tubes. Planting will continue until such time as the stem
density ranges described in the Amendment application for 15% of the disturbed acreage are
present for three year-old seedlings or following a two year period where no protection is
provided. _
Submitted by: //~-T..~ -li
Date: 2 ~ ~ Z ~ `7
-~ -~
