He requested
that I send a copy of the submittal to WSERC. Attached are the following items for TR-16:
1. Bowie Resources Limited's (BRL) original submittal for TR-16, dated June 8, 2000;
2. The letter from the Office of Surface Mining, dated July 10, 2000, stating that approval of
TR-16 would make the Bowie No. 2 Mine a federal mine;
3. The Division's first adequacy review letter for TR-16, dated July 21, 2000;
4. BRL's responses, dated July 24, 2000, to the Division's first adequacy review letter;
5. The Division's letter, dated July 28, 2000, explaining the revision process for mining
approval in the Iron Point Tract Lease;
6. The Division's second adequacy review letter, dated August 11, 2000.
The proposed decision due date for TR-16 is August 18, 2000. However, before the Division can
render a proposed decision, two items must be completed. First, the Division is expecting a letter
from the Bureau of Land Management concerning TR-16 and the right-of-entry. Second, BRL
must submit proof of the final approval for the Iron Point Tract Lease.
If these two items aze not resolved by the proposed decision due date of August 18, 2000, the
deadline will be extended. If WSERC has any comments before the proposed decision, I suggest
