2002), the seeding of both the topsoil and overburden stockpiles shall be delayed until the spring of 2003.
Spraying against noxious weed will be done In accordance with Routt County's overall weed spraying program.
Smooth Bromegrass Manchar 25 3,5
P'ubescent Wheatgrass Luna 50 7,0
S treambank Sodar 25 3.0
The above seeding rates are based on broadcast rates. If the site Is drilled, then reduce the above rates
by one half. After the seed Is broadcast, the area should be lightly harrowed or drug
over with a log chain
to help cover the seed, After harrowing, the site should be fertilized with a minimum of
40 -10 -5 available
fertilizer mix. After fertilizing, the site should be covered with straw mulch at a rate of 2,500 lbs. /acre.
After the straw Is scattered evenly over the site, the straw should be disked to crimp
It Into the soli.
The mulch will protect the soil from drying and cracking, thus giving the grass seedlings
a better environment
to get established In, The seeding of the site should be done In the fall of the year.
For the first growing
season a herbicide should be used to control annual broadleaf weeds. A recommended mix
Is 1 /10 oz, of Ally
mixed with 1/3 lb. of 2.4 -D, Spraying should be done during the first week of June.
