After fertilizing, the site should be covered with straw mulch at a rate of 2,500 lbs. /acre. <br />After the straw Is scattered evenly over the site, the straw should be disked to crimp <br />It Into the soli. <br />The mulch will protect the soil from drying and cracking, thus giving the grass seedlings <br />a better environment <br />to get established In, The seeding of the site should be done In the fall of the year. <br />For the first growing <br />season a herbicide should be used to control annual broadleaf weeds.
