TR Application (Refuse Pile ditch lining)
Dan, Per your request I reviewed the TR submitted by the Red
Canyon Mine to install Enkamat 7010 ditch liner in the Refuse Pile
diversion ditch. In the previous TR-11 approved 3/24/94, SEDCAD
demonstrations were submitted and approved by the Division. The
hydrology specifications presented in TR-11 was used to evaluate
the use of the Enkamat 7010.
In review of the specifications of the Enkamat 7010 Channel
Performance Data, it appears that this channel lining will be
adequate in the diversion ditch. The operator states that this mat
will be installed in three locations on the ditch that exceed 4$.
In order to maintain the integrity of the lining, it is imperative
that the junctions are properly keyed in place in the transition
areas from earth channel to Enkamat channel.
Enclosed, please find Enkamat instructions for installation. A
cross section of proper installation is depicted on the diagram.
Please insure that the operator follows these installation
instructions and manufactures specifications.
