<br />Technical Revision No. 23 (Hydromonitoring Modification)
<br />Pursuant to Title 34, Article 35, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, the
<br />Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on March 31, 1994, a
<br />technical revision application for a permit to conduct coal mining operations by
<br />Cyprus Empire Corporation, P.0. Box 68, Craig, CO 81625, was deemed complete for
<br />the purposes of filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and
<br />Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing.
<br />The applicant proposes to revise underground coal mining operations at the Eagle No.
<br />5 and 9 Mines. The technical revision addresses revised hydrologic monitoring. The
<br />revision proposes abandonment of a monitoring well known as the Okie Plaza well.
<br />The Eagle No. 5 and 9 Mines permit area is located approximately six miles south of
<br />Craig, Colorado, within the following described lands:
<br />Sections 17, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33,
<br />Township 6 North, Range 91 West;
<br />Sections 25, 26, 35, and 36, Township 6 North,
<br />Range 92 West;
<br />Section 1, Township 5 North, Range 92 West; and
<br />Sections 4, 5, 6, and 8, Township 5 North, Range 91 West
<br />of the 6th P.M., in Moffat County.
<br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map
<br />of Round Bottom, Colorado.
<br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public
<br />inspection at the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 West Victory Way, Craig,
<br />Colorado. Written comments may be submitted and additional information may be
<br />obtained from the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman
<br />Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567.
