<br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology has issued a proposed <br />decision to approve a technical revision to the mining and <br />reclamation plans for the Eagle Coal Mine operated by Cyprus Empire <br />Corporation, under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal <br />Mining Reclamation Act of 1979 (Permit No. C-81-044). The Eagle <br />Coal Mine is located approximately 10 miles south of Craig, <br />Colorado on Colorado Highway 13. The area to be affected by this <br />revision is located in portions of Sections 5 and 6 within T5N, <br />R91W and Section 31 within T6N, R9W of the 6th P.M. <br />The Division proposes to approve Cyprus Empire's technical revision <br />to its permit in order to allow the mine to proceed with <br />developmental mining under Colorado Highway 13, the Williams Fork <br />River (and its associated alluvial valley floor) and a railroad <br />spur. <br />Copies of the proposed technical revision are available for public <br />review at the Moffat County Clerk and Recorder's Office in the <br />Moffat County Courthouse and at the office of the Colorado Division <br />of Minerals and Geology, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203. Any person who has an interest which is or may be <br />adversely affected by this decision may request a formal hearing. <br />Request for a formal hearing must be made in writing within ten <br />days of this publication and shall state with reasonable <br />specificity the reasons for the request and objections to the <br />proposed decision. <br />
