I' _[(30.47)(0.9) - 28.7 )/4.15] = 0.31
' (2.) ~ _ [a = .10, (n-1) d.f.] = 1.345
1 Conclusion: The calculated t value of -0.31 <_ 1.345, the I-I„ is not rejected; and the cover of the
Phase I, II, and II area is not less than 90% of the reference area standard.
' Vegetative Cover-1997
The mean vegetation cover values and sample adequacy results for both the reclaimed and
reference areas for the sampling year 1997 are summarized in Table A-3. The mean weighted
cover value for the Phase I, II, and III reclaimed areas was 51.68 percent, the Phase N reclaimed
' area equaled 48.53 percent, while the big sagebrush reference area totaled 51.47 percent. The
post mining comparison of cover values revealed the Phase I, II, and III reclaimed area exceeded
the reference azea standard and the Phase N reclaimed area was statistically adequate at the 90%
' confidence level. Results of the Student t Test calculations for mean cover values are summarized
following Table A-4. All transect data are presented in Tables A-16, A-17, and A-19.

1
1
1
' A-10
