The mean weighted
cover value for h Phacr r n ~-.a m .o,.i..:-..o.+ .,.~.. ~a~ ~u 73 percent, the Phase N reclaimed
' area equaled 31.33 percent, while the big sagebrush reference area totaled 30.47 percent. The
post mining comparison of reclaimed area cover values and reference area cover standards
revealed the Phase IV area exceeded the reference area standard and Phase I, II, and III were
statistically adequate at the 90 percent confidence level. Results of the Student t Test for mean
cover values are summarized in the calculations following Table A-2. All transect data are
presented in Tables A-11, A-12, and A-15.
1
1
1
1
1
Table A-1
Summary of Sample Adequacy Calculations
Canadian Stria Mine - 1998 Point-Intercept Transects
Mean Computed
Vegetation Standard Actual Adequate .
Area Cover.(Percent) Deviation Sam le Size Sam le,Size
Phase I, II, III Reclaimed 28.73 4.61 15 4.15
Area (Lumped values) N+`,i G+

Phase N Reclaimed Area 31.33 3.72 15 1.79
Reference Area 30.47 3.40 15 2.25
.~ ~C
~~~7
A-8
h9
x
