<br /> <br />Ms. Lorraine Stepenske <br />Kremmling Airport Gravel Pit <br />August 31, 1993 <br />Page 2 <br />2. The Blackwell Oil Lease is at the West end of the proposal. No <br />mining will occur at the West end of the pit. This area has <br />previously been mined. Grand County is in the process of <br />purchasing all of this property, even the area on which the <br />Blackwell Lease is located. <br />3. Grand County owns the Kremmling/Grand County Airport. Grand <br />County is also in the process of purchasing the Kremmling Airport <br />Gravel Pit from Louisiana-Pacific, a willing seller. <br />Attached please find Board of County Commissioners Resolution <br />#1993-8-17 which approves the Kremmling Airport Gravel Pit in <br />close proximity to the Kremmling/Grand County Airport. Map #2 was <br />an exhibit from the Kremmling/Grand County Airport Master Plan <br />recently approved by both Grand County and the FAA. Attached <br />please find a copy of a letter from the FAA approving this Master <br />Plan. This airport is technically called the Kremmling/Grand <br />County Airport - McElroy Field. The Kremmling Airport Gravel Pit <br />is out of the boundaries of the Part 77 penetration area and is of <br />no concern to the FAA. In addition the Kremmling Airport Gravel <br />Pit is approximately 20' below the level of the Kremmling/Grand <br />County Airport. <br />Exhibit D - Mining Plan <br />1. Grand County hereby amends the Mining <br />as to recontoured slopes being kept at an <br />Grand County will adhere strictly to the <br />Maps 4 and 7. Grand County hereby withdraws the following statement from <br />Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan: <br />"Some slope modification might occur immediately off site to <br />the north to allow the creation of natural contours and <br />compliance with finished grading plan." <br />Grand County will complete the entire reclamation plan within the <br />boundaries shown in the Mined Land Reclamation Permit application <br />and maps. <br />2. Grand County will place topsoil on this site in both the pit <br />area and recontoured slopes in a depth of at least 6". <br />3. Grand County hereby commits to seed any topsoil stockpiled on <br />the Kremmling Airport Gravel Pit site within six (6) months after <br />the topsoil is stockpiled on the site. <br />
