Underlying this to a depth of 60 inches or more is mottled, light <br />brownish-gray gravely sand. In the surface layer and underlying material soil reaction <br />is moderately alkaline and in the substratum it is mildly alkaline. In most azeas <br />gypsum crystals and sofr lime segregations aze present in some layers. <br />Loveland soils have moderate permeability. Available water capacity for the <br />profile is moderate to high, depending upon the depth to very gravely sand. Roots <br />can penetrate to a depth of 60 inches or more, and the seasonal high water table is at a <br />depth of 2 to 4 feet. <br />These soils are used for pastwe and crops.
