Cattany <br />Acting Division Director <br />455 Emerson <br />Craig, CO 81625 <br />Re: Trapper Mine (Permit No. C-1981-010) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 4 (RN-4) <br />Permit Revision Application No. 5 (PR-5) <br />Dear Mr. Husband: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, <br />Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on July 3, 2002, an application to renew an existing pemrit to <br />conduct coal mining operations at the Trapper Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing.. Trapper <br />Mining, Inc. provided an updated 5-year mine plan for 2003 through 2007 in this application. All review and <br />comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this <br />date of filing. <br />Trapper Mining Inc. proposes [o continue surface coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located <br />approximately 6 miles southwest of Craig, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 1, 2, and 3, Township 5 North, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />Portions of Sections 30 and 31, Township 6th North, Range 90 West of the 6th P.M. <br />Portions of Sections 25, 26, 28, 33, 34, 35, and 36, Township 6 North, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Castor Gulch. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 W <br />Victory Way, Craig, CO 81625, and at the Division office.
