Deaz Mr. Lyle:
Following aze a few remaining requirements which must be addressed prior to a~y approval of
Technical Revision 26:
1) Need an update of Pink Gneiss activities (the DMG issued a partial appro al of the pilot
project on February 17, 2000), including a schedule for initiation of the pr ect, a narrative
describing any EPA requirements for additional wells in the Pink Gneiss ea, and
~ documentation regarding the well locations, completions, etc. Submit the pdate to the
Division by May 26, 2000.
2) Need an update report regarding: the status of the Evaporation system, the 12 month
operation of the nano-filtration system, and the backup system to the nano tltration system
when it is down for repairs and/or maintenance (in order to maintain the b ckfill water level
at 8580 feet msl). Submit the report to the Division by May 26, 2000.
3) BMRI must submit the required Shewart-CUSUM charts for the eight (8) erformance
monitoring wells by May 26, 2000. The charts must include monitoring re ults for
December, 1999 and January, February, Mazch and April, 2000. The chart will be
submitted every month thereafter for previous month's monitoring results ntil the
performance monitoring ceases.
4) BMRI must submit an updated map showing the locations of the "intercep or" wells, the
new point of compliance (M-34), the new injection wells and the pipings tem for the
interceptor wells to the injection wells and the process water system to the 'nfiltration
trench. The map must be submitted to the Division by May 26, 2000.
5) BMRI must submit certified as-built drawings/maps for the nano-filtration system to the
Division by June 10, 2000. If there are no changes to the existing draft dra ings/maps
(da[ed October, 1999) they can be re-submitted after being certified by a r ~istered
