The Courtner Pit encompasses 266 acres of portions of
Section 24, Township 21S of Range 64W in the 6TH Principal Meridian, Pueblo County,
Colorado. The following attachments are included with the letter report: 1). The warranty
deed with the complete legal description is included as Exhibit A. 2). Lafarge
proposes to amend the Courtner Pit MLRB Mine and Reclamation plan to include within
the permit boundary approximately 16 acres south of its current mining operation.
Lafarge proposes to release the 16.9-acre Phase IV that Lafarge believes to difficult to
economically mine and conduct a land swap as part of an amendment to allow mining
south of current Mine Phase III. The proposed 16 acre new mine phase is called out as
Mine Phase IV on the attached mine plan.
Lafarge understands that the release of the 16.9 Mine Phase IV is the first step in the
amendment process. Lafarge believes that that there is no requirement for further
reclamation commitments under the reclamation plan as to site grading, topsoil
requirements, successful re-vegetation and other stabilization activities for the described
WESTERN MOBILE INC., a subsidiary of Lafarge Corporation ~ /.~ ~ ~ ~^ ~~ t~
TECHNICAL SERVICES U ~ ~I V
1590 W. 12th Ave., Denver, Colorado 802043410 _ _ f ,,
Office: (303) 657-4000 Fax: (303) 657-4339 ~ ~, ~. ~ t[/ (. ~ ~ ~~
