Kline:
Annual water depletion at the above referenced mine is based on two factors. fVormal
consumption in underground and surface operations, and evaporative losses in settling ponds.
• Normal consumption is the larger of the hvo amounts and is metered by equiptncnt on
site. Data indicates that our avernge daily consumption is approximately 9500 gallons, 254
days per year, for 2,413,000 gallons or 7.39 of/year.
Evaporative losses arc from two settling ponds and are estimated based on tabulated
data from National Weather Service. The surface area of the two ponds combined is 0.5
acres and yields a theoretical limit of approximately 1 of/y evaporation. Since the ponds are
not used for standing containment and are dry for most of the year, the actual evaporative
losses are reduced to approximately 0.6 of/y at the most.
Total annual water depletion is thus estimated to be:
Consumption 7.39 of/y
Evaporation O.G al%y
Total 7.99 aF/y
[f yoil have a q Icstions or comments or require further information, please contact
me or Tom Bird the mine at (970)335-4528 or (970)385-4606.
Si
• %V//~
Trent Pet son
General Manager
SE~'TEH/jc 2 / 9 % ~
