Using the mcdified Blaney-Griddle
method set forth in the U.S. Soil Conservation Service Technical
Release 21, the irrigation water requirements for the area was
estimated to be 1.66 acre-feet per acre. This figure was based
on 20 years of weather data for the years 1951 through 1970.
Assuming an irrigation efficiency of 75°0, the total annual water
required for irrigation of 27 acres would be approximately 60
acre-feet per year. The maximum irrigation requirement by month
was found to be July, where an average of 5.34 inches per acre of
water is needed. Fcr an irrigation efficiency of 75°o and 27
acres of land, the average flow rate for July is approximately
0.26 cubic feet per second.
The source of water for irrigation will be the landowner as
stated in the original permit.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
RINDAHL & ASSOCIATES, INC.
Bruce G.
