January 17, 1995
,Ir•:
~ RECEIVED
~~..
JAN ~ 9 1995
~ iii iiuiiiiuiiiiii
~,*
Mr. sob Oswald
Division of Minerals & G"Rloy~n of Mmerals & Geology
1313 Sherman SI.. Room _~~>
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Rocky Ford East Fit, File No. M-77-560, Amendment AM-001
Dear Mr. Oswald,
I have reviewed your latest response (dated December 12, 1994) regarding the above named
application. I have resportded with the following information:
~!`- " 1. Tire typographical error in the legal description for public notice has been corrected and
re-advertised.
~ ~ 2. The three additional copies of material submitted are included in this submittal. Copies
have been submitted to the county for public review. *V~ ~~
~ 3. The pond banks will have a slope of 2:1 on all slopes five feet above water lev~;l and a
slope of 3:1 on all banks five feet above water level to ten feet below ~vatcr level. This
~ is all based on finished water level. There wiil be no swimming allowed.
~-
~ 4. Cottonwood seedlings will be planted at a distance of 50' between trees and 15' from
water line on the west, north and east shores of the west pond. This should require
approximately 30 seedlings. T7ie~tted line identifies the water level. ~ No 1` ~ J f «~
U~ . 5. Fond banks of the small west pond will be treated as stated in item #3 & #4 except for
the north bank which has an established stand of more than 400 medium sized
cottonwood trees. Any attempt to change the slope on this bank would require the
removal of these trees. Dotted line is the water level.
" 6, All stockpiles will be remo~~ed. Remaining over burden piles will be sloped to 2:1,
covered with [op soil and seeded with grass as per re-vegetation plan.
~, 7. The 30 inch discharge flume will be buried in place and the ditch filled in with material
originally excavated from ditch and stockpiled next to it. The length of the ditch is
400', the width is 12', the depth is 10' for a total volume of 1,778 cubic yards of fill. I
estimate that this will take a 988 cat loader with a 6 yard bucket approximately eight
hours at our rate of $55.00 per hour, for a total cost of $440.00 to complete.
~ 8. Road width is 50', depth of excavation to remove culvert is 8' and width is 6' for a total
of 80 cubic yazds. Labor & equipment costs are 4 bouts backhoe at $40.00 per hour
and 8 tons of base material at $10.00 per ton delivered. Total cost for each culvert is
$240.00 Otero County will do work and dispose of culvert.
