* The primary local service area of the Facility is a <br />geographic portion of Weld County known as the <br />Southeast Service Area, one of four distinct solid <br />waste service areas of Weld County. <br />* The Southeast Service Area, with a radius of 15 miles, <br />comprises approximately 700 square miles. It is <br />without a convenient sanitary landfill capability, duE <br />to the closure of all other landfill sites within the <br />area. <br />•• The regional service area of the Facility will also <br />include portions of the Denver metropolitan area. <br />Usage of the Facility from this service area will <br />generally be via a recycling and transfer facility. <br />•• The Facility has been designed to provide its local and <br />regional service areas with a useful life of <br />approximately 45 years. This useful life is less than <br />or comparable to the capacities available in the other <br />geographic service areas of Weld County. <br />Facility Economic Benefits: <br />* The Facility will assist economic growth and <br />development within its intended service area. It will <br />provide the fundamental long-term waste management <br />capability essential to existing and future commerce <br />and industry, including the new Denver International <br />Airport and the growth it is expected to stimulate. <br />The Facility will not cause any costs to be borne by <br />Weld County. The county solid waste surcharge <br />collected by Weld County will fully cover any costs <br />related to the Facility. <br />* The Facility, in addition to economically meeting the <br />fundamental waste management needs of its service area, <br />will provide significant employment opportunities. <br />Existing jobs in the area will be retained and new jobs <br />will be created as part of the integrated mine <br />reclamation, ash disposal site and Facility operation. <br />•• By continuing <br />buildings and <br />Keenesburg Co <br />Facility will <br />therefore the <br />assets. <br />the utilization of the existing major <br />improvements associated with the <br />al Mine and Coors Ash Disposal Site, the <br />preserve and perpetuate the value and <br />related property tax benefits of those <br />
