Specific monitoring plans could then be developed to
provide documentation of a concern or need as well as the
success of any mitigation actions.
PWCC will agree to raise the density standard in concentrated
woody plant establishment areas to 1000 stems per acre, but will
continue to propose an overall standard of 250 stems per acre.
The shrub reestablishment plan centers on establishment of
concentrated shrub establishment areas scattered in the
reclaimed areas. Details are provided in Tab 13. Additionally,
other enhancements including stock ponds, raptor perches, and
nest boxes will be established. An active stock pond
construction program has been in place for several years and a
number of nest boxes have been established.
Please review Tab 13 and Exhibit 13-1 in context with the above
discussion. Contact Vern Pfannenstiel, Roy Karo, or me if you
have any questions related to this plan or reclamation
activities at Seneca Mine.
Sincerely,
Gary W.
