Long <br />Division Director <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology has issued a proposed decision to renew the valid, <br />existing mining and reclamation permit at the Seneca II Mine. There are no plans for additional <br />disturbance beyond that which has been previously approved. The proposed decision will be <br />published on or about November 19, 1992, which will initiate a thirty day public comment <br />period, after which the decision will become final. <br />Prior to issuing a renewed permit for the mine, the Division must make a finding that no <br />threatened or endangered species within or adjacent to the permit area would be affected by the <br />operation. Please advise the Division as to the current status of threatened or endangered <br />species within or adjacent to the permit area. <br />The surface mining operation is located approximately five miles southeast of Hayden, Colorado. <br />The legal description of the area is as follows: <br />Township 5 North.
