The Corley Company
Phone 632-5050 P.O. BOZ 1921
COLORADO SPRINGS COLORA00 80901
October 18, 2002
Mr. James R. Stark
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman St., Room 215 RECEIVED
Denver CO 80203
Deaz Mr. Stazk:
Thank you for the letter dated October 10, 2002.
oc7 z ~ 2002
Givisi9n of Minerals and Geology
The only confusion now is that I am referring to the power transmission line from
Florence to the substation at the Energy site, running along the east side of State Highway
67 and the south side of County Road 15 for approximately 10 miles. This 69kv
powerline was constructed in late 1981 or eazly 1982 specifically with the only purpose of
supplying electricity to the Dorchester mine for mining. The previous transmission line
had inadequate capacity. Dorchester paid for the construction costs. This line has never
supplied electricity to any other customer, and today has no connected load. To further
substantiate that Dorchester constructed this line, Dorchester constructed the substation
and the substation transformer is still owned by Energy Fuels unless they have sold it in
the past few weeks.
Sincerely,
W
W.D. Corley, Jr.
President
