PRCITECT DESCRIPTIOt~I: <br />According to available information, this mine is part of the area <br />originally opened by the Union Pacific Railroad in 1RR7; in act, the <br />railroad line constructed to haul stone from the ~Trnrries •zp. rently <br />crossec9 the eastern Jx~rtion of this site. 'I11e quac-ry was ap rently <br />abandoned in 1922, and was reopened in 1950 and has apparent y been <br />operated since that date. <br />The present operator requests approval to continue the open it raining of <br />flagstone. Equi~nent will include bulldozer, forklifts, sto ecutter, and <br />several trucks rlsed to haul the material. The number of emp ogees is fran <br />4 to 13 men depending on the season.
