's
"Cross Mine", File No. M-77-410, Boulder County
Dear Mr. Hendricks:
Thank you for your letter informing us of your proposal to expand sel:tiing
pond No. 1 and construction of a new settling pond No. 3, received by the
Division on September 14, 1987, The following information is reouested to
clarify the relationship of your plans with the existing permit:
1. Will the expansion addition of settling ponds remain within the 1 acre
permitted area? If not, please amend the permit to reflect the actual
affected land area.
2. Please discuss the reclamation plans for these ponds. Is the current
52,500.00 financial warranty held by the State adequate to complete all
the reclamation required on site? If not, please provide calculations
estimating the expected reclamation costs,
3. "Topsoi]" is proposed to prepare the pond liner foundation and line the
pond bottom. How often wilt the ponds be cleaned, and where will the sediment be
deposited?
