The official proposal is a requested amendment to M 93-050
known as the Dellacroce gravel pit. The amendment should be denied!
The Northern El Paso County Home Owners Association Coalition is a consortium of I 1
homeowners associations in the area adjoining the gravel pit, and was formed to collectively
address issues common to all residents in the area. The coalition represents over 1700 residents,
aII of whom experience the visual impact of this unnatural scar on a dar7y basis.
The members of.the Northern EI Paso County Home Owners Association Coalition
unanimously support rei~ting the requested amendment for the foIIowing reasons:
a. The.current gravel.pit is an.eyesora, and expansion would.be devastating to the mountain
scenery tfiat.our.I706 residents.currently enjoy. More residential.devefopments such as
.Jackson Creek will increase the.number of residents affected by this scar. Approval.of this
requested amendment would be adding another lazge scar to our mountains -akin to the
Queen's Canyon scar.
b. It 1t does not appear that the gravel pit owner has fulfilled his legal responsibility for
reclamation of the current gavel pit, thus we would expect another breach of any promise or
legal requirement for relamation of an expanded gravel pit.
c. The feeling of openness and the visual beauty of the mountains are strong reasons why our
residents chose to live in our areas. The gravel pit will cause a highly visible unnatural scar in
our residents' line of sight, and would surely decrease the attractiveness of our azea for future
residents. Property values and resale opportunities will decline.
We respectfully request that you strongly consrder conc ver the requested amendment to
M 93-050 and deny the amendment.
1' I'~~ .
Jack Glick, President Zeda Thomas, President
Donala Club Villa Homeowners Association Pleasant View Homeowners Assoc
Bob Swedenborg, President
Gleneagle Civic Assocration
Ken Gresko, President
Gleneagle North Homeowners Association
Steve Waldmann
Ridge at Fox Run Homeowners
Herb Vore, President
Sun Hills Association
Richard Strycker, President
GJeneagle Townhomes Association
James Clark, President
Nichlas Homeowners Association
Joe Pertl, President
Sun Mesa Townhome Owners Assoc
VickiLynn Hoff, President
Sunrise Townhome Association
Mike Hite
Twin Valleys Homeowners
