1
1
RECLAMATION PLAN
' Excavation of the subject site will occur as a continuation of the existing
permit (M-91-136) and will result in an approximate 6 acre expansion of the lake
that was originally planned and an additional 1.3 acre of graded slopes.
1 As depicted on the Reclamation Plan Map, the slopes of the excavated area will
be graded to correspond with the slopes of the previous operation.
' During gravel extraction, the banks will he excavated at 1:1 and the e
backfilled to a 3:1 slope or gentler. The slopes will be plated wit 8" to 12"
' of topsoil as a seed bed media. The soil that is to be stored in the stockpile
will be used for this.
The ern t t will be constructed along the south and east portions of the
' perm{t ed area will remain in lace throw final reclamation procedures. This
berm will be at an eleva on that corresponds with the berm along the south
boundary of the original permit that serves as a buffer from the Colorado River
' during extreme high water periods.
Final grading of slopes and placement of topsoil will occur after the completion
' of gravel extraction.
After the completion of all reclamation efforts, the excavated area will be
permitted to fill with ground water. This will result in a lake that will be
' approximately 22 acres in size. The surrounding shorelines will serve as a
habitat for wildlife that typically frequents the area. The water will serve as
habitat for various fish species as well as a habitat for resident and migratory
birds.
Revegetation will be performed in the fall of the year following the completion
' of final grading of affected slopes. Grasses that have been recommended by the
U.S. Soil Conservation Service will be used, and will be applied according to
their recommended rates and procedures.
1

1
1

1
